Trumpster Fire Day 908: Stop Feeding the Troll

Does anyone out there remember that there were going to be ICE raids this past weekend? How about the fact the Trump administration needs a new Secretary of Labor, and the reasons why? Or, what about the fact the United States is still marching towards war with Iran? Did all of these things, and more, just slip everyone in Washington’s and the media’s minds on Sunday? Did it really just take stupid, racist tweets from Donald Trump to make everyone forget the genuine shitshow that is his presidency? Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 908: Stop Feeding the Troll”

Trumpster Fire Day 757: President Trump Has Gone Rogue

After failing to get the money he wanted to build his Mexico border wall, President Trump has decided to circumvent the legislative process and use a declaration of emergency to get the wall built. Apparently, he’s going to raid the Pentagon for the money to pay for it. Well, even a broken watch is right twice a day. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 757: President Trump Has Gone Rogue”

Trumpster Fire Day 564: Donnie Gives Up the Game

President Donald Trump has an itchy Twitter finger. That’s really no surprise. The man has never had a filter, and Twitter is very good at amplifying mouths that are already loud. Not a week goes by without Trump posting something outrageous. His endless stream of rhetorical nonsense, insults, and Orwellian pronouncements would have been enough to sink any other presidency, but not this president. The sheer volume of his transgressions decreases their negative impact on his presidency, due to outrage fatigue, but a very real bill is coming due. Donald Trump is squirming, and that hasn’t been more clear than in a tweet from yesterday morning: Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 564: Donnie Gives Up the Game”

Trumpster Fire Day 462: Situation Normal

Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, current Physician to the President, has withdrawn himself from consideration for leading the Department of Veterans Affairs. Once the press began looking into Dr. Ronny, they uncovered salacious details of Jackson’s personal conduct, including numerous bouts with booze, and a cavalier attitude towards the distribution of narcotics. Coupled with a reportedly epic temper, Jackson’s poor character was more than enough for the Senate to whisper that the nomination was doomed. So, bowing to the obvious, Jackson has declined the nomination. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 462: Situation Normal”

Trumpster Fire Day 442: Another Rant About the Turdpol

The President of the United States is as close to out of control as one of our presidents has ever been. The mass exodus among White House and cabinet staff has denuded the administration of checks on Donald Trump’s worst instincts. In just the last couple of weeks, he’s been trying, against massive amounts of pushback from just about everyone on the planet, to start trade wars with any takers. China has stepped into the ring, and our leader seems determined to go tit-for-tat with China’s response to Trump’s tariffs. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 442: Another Rant About the Turdpol”

Trumpster Fire Day 392: The Best People

The scandals surrounding the Turdpol Kakistocracy continue to mount every single day. In fact, there hasn’t been a moment in this scoundrel’s presidency when there haven’t been questions about its conduct swirling around. This week it’s a scandal over when the White House knew that one of its high-level employees was a wife beater who was vulnerable to blackmail, and an old (by that, I mean mere weeks) scandal resurfaced about hush money paid to a porn actress. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 392: The Best People”

Trumpster Fire Day 385: Are We Sure the Election Wasn’t Rigged?

In reporting yesterday from NBC News, head of cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security, Jeanette Manfra, said, “We saw a targeting of 21 states and an exceptionally small number of them were successfully penetrated.” This comes five months after Homeland Security notified those 21 states that Russian government hackers had been targeting them, and a full 17 months after NBC News reported attempted hacking. So far, only Illinois has confirmed that the hackers had been able to gain access to its systems. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 385: Are We Sure the Election Wasn’t Rigged?”

Trumpster Fire Day 363: The Sky is Falling

This past Sunday, residents of Hawaii were sent an emergency alert to their phones. It stated, “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” Understandably, this caused some consternation among the Hawaiian population. It was a false alarm, but a message stating so wasn’t sent out until 38 minutes after the initial alert. So, for over half an hour, a whole lot of people in our 50th state thought that they were going to die in nuclear fire. How very retro. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 363: The Sky is Falling”

Trumpster Fire Day 251: An Ongoing Disaster

Puerto Rico got walloped by Hurricane Maria. The storm made landfall on Puerto Rico as a category 4 hurricane seven days ago, now. Maria destroyed the territory’s electricity transmission infrastructure, and the vast majority of the territory is still without electrical power, with all the attending problems that causes. Food is running out, potable water is in desperate short supply, and it could be months before power is restored. Continue readingTrumpster Fire Day 251: An Ongoing Disaster”

Trumpland Day 189: “Two Fish that Don’t Stink”

Well, Reince Priebus’s days as White House Chief of Staff are numbered. That became clear last week when President Trump hired Anthony Scaramucci to be the White House Communications Director, going around Priebus’s recommendations, and leading White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer to resign. But events last night and this morning have hammered that idea home. Continue readingTrumpland Day 189: “Two Fish that Don’t Stink””
